Office Depot, Delray Beach, Florida, announced it would both build and open its first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified (LEED[R]-certified) retail store in Austin, Texas, in mid-2008. The Washington, D.C.-based U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) sets the standards for green buildings, developing its LEED Green Building Rating System[TM] in 2000. The LEED system is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. Office Depot has successfully implemented a number of environmental construction initiatives over the past few years, said Costa. We see both our membership in the U.S. Green Building Council and our long-term strategy of having a retail store prototype LEED-certified as examples of Office Depots environmental vision to increasingly buy green, be green and sell green.
PHOENIX — The first Best Western hotel to be built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification recently broke ground in Golden, Colo. The 86-room Best Western Inn and Suites at Dinosaur Ridge, located at 18475 West Colfax, I-70 and US Highway in the west Denver area is expected to be complete in May 2009. This is a leading-edge green property, and we are excited to add it to our portfolio, said Mark Williams, vice president, North American development for Best Western International. We are thrilled to see environmentally-friendly hotels and amenities become increasingly popular with guests and developers.

General Motors Corp. said that it has developed the first automotive exterior use for a new lightweight high performance plastic material. The first application of the material will be on step-assists on 2002 model year GMC Safari and Chevrolet Astro minivans. GM expects to equip about 8,000 Safari and Astro minivans with the step-assists made of the new material, which is called thermoplastic olefin nanocomposite, or TPO nanocomposite. Taub said the automaker wanted to begin using it on a lower volume vehicle at first to gauge its performance. GM is exploring other uses of the material including vehicle interiors, Taub said. At this point though, the plastic is not suitable for use on body panels. Such use would require additional research, Taub said.
The plastic polymers that can be recycled are separated into seven categories: Polyethylene Terephthalate (polyester), High Density Polyethylene, Vinyl, Low Density Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Polystyrene and Other. In this project, spectra of PET, HDPE, PP and PS were gathered using Raman spectroscopy. An algorithm program was used to create a single model for each of the polymers. These models were tested with selected new spectra of various known and unknown polymers. When the sample spectra were run through each model, the model produced results that showed whether the testing set sample polymer spectrum was significantly similar with the models training set spectra, possibly similar with the models training set spectra, or significantly different from the models training set spectra. In no case did the sample spectra test falsely similar to a model, but some false dissimilarities were detected. The results infer that Raman Spectroscopy can only be used in conjunction with an algorithm program to discriminate between plastic polymers only if the training sets of the models are large enough to allow variations.

RISK PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS Our fictitious business, Riverside Hardware Store, Inc. (RHS), owned several vehicles, including all of the business owners personal vehicles. Besides the personal cars, RHS also owned several pickup trucks. The owners insurance company wrote the coverage using the most restrictive covered auto description that was available. The restrictive coverage is shown on the Business Auto Policys declaration page as “specified autos only.” There was no premium difference between using the broadest description of covered autos and the most restrictive definitions of covered autos. Activating “any auto” is accomplished by putting the appropriate symbol on the declarations page.

It is ultraviolet-resistant, nontoxic and nonflammable. It protects virtually any type of surface and is applied with brush, roller or spray.
Dear Jim: I know clogged overflowing gutters can damage my house structure, but I also heard they can increase my utility bills. Do the gutter guards that rely on the surface tension of water really work? - William F. In many climates during the summer, excessive humidity in the air creates more discomfort than does the heat. When you are uncomfortable, you typically set the air conditioner thermostat lower, which uses more electricity. Overflowing gutters allows the ground around the house to become saturated, and this increases the humidity level in the nearby air.

reliable networks

Posted by on 03 Jan 2009 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

Communications media networks were born with the 1926 radio sign-on of the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) signaling the dawn of a new era of both communications and culture in America. The network concept is purely abstract–even in its practical form nothing but a series of wires or satellite connections. Yet the history and influence of the broadcast networks is one of the great stories of the twentieth century for though they did not create it the networks did cement the process of homogenizing American culture. By 1930 for the first time America was whistling to the same tunes laughing at the same comedians hearing the same politicians speeches–instantaneously. The taste and judgement of a relative few urban Northeastern network executives set national standards of everything from dialect and language to fashion and behavior. Only when the influence of the old-line networks had faded by the end of the century was it truly possible to grasp the power they held over the nation for so long.Though the number of networks has grown exponentially over the decades with the technology of their distribution methods improving by light-years the concept has remained the same. A network is simply a set of affiliate stations that receive programming from one central source then beam that programming by some method either broadcast wave or cable wire into the eyes and ears of a waiting public.
NETWORKINGHISTORICAL ACHIEVEMENTS IN COMMUNICATION AND TRANSPORTATIONNetworks were developed as a communication method between computers at remote sites. They trace their roots back to nineteenth-century communication and transportation historical achievements. In America, people have always strived for faster travel and communication systems, particularly between the East and West Coasts. These systems included technology and experiments of varying complexity. For example, the Pony Express operated between 1860 and 1861. It provided seven-day mail service between St. Joseph, Missouri, and Sacramento, California. In 1861 the Western Union Telegraph Company replaced the Pony Express and provided a faster, more reliable communication service. Furthermore, the transcontinental railroad was completed at Promontory, Utah, in 1869. These events improved the telegraph industry. The telephone was invented in 1876, and the first transcontinental telephone line was joined at Wendover, Utah, in 1915. This national telephone network provided a foundation for the wide area computer networks that evolved later in the twentieth century.

MORE homes are set for a facelift as part of regeneration plans. Gateshead Council has submitted an application for planning permission to carry out major works to homes in Watt Street, Telford Street, Hedley Street, Stephenson Street, Saltwell Road and Whitehall Road, in Bensham. Coun David Napier, right, cabinet spokesman for housing, says: This is a huge programme which will benefit thousands of local residents.
Homeowners looking to refurbish their houses but unwilling to use expensive credit cards to finance it will soon be served by a new, locally based loan company specializing in home improvement loans. American First Mortgage Source Inc. will open Feb. 1 at 504 W. Mission Ave., in Escondido. Jess Chinchillas, founder of the company, recently returned to the county after serving as vice president for The Money Store, a Sacramento-based home lender. The home improvement loan is secured by a lien on the subject property, he added. Since the average home improvement loan is smaller than other kinds of home equity loans, but has just as much paperwork, the points charged are usually proportionally higher, he added.
The ABC network sitcom Home Improvement first aired on September 17 1991 and ran for eight seasons through May 1999. During only its second season the show was renewed for three additional seasons an unusual decision in the television industry. Based on the stand-up comedy routine of its star Tim Allen (born Timothy Allen Dick in 1953) Home Improvement initially reflected Allens love of power tools cars and Sears department stores as well as mirroring his own family situation. Allen portrayed Tim Taylor the host of cable TVs “Tool Time.” His wife Jill was portrayed by Patricia Richardson. More than just comedy though Home Improvement epitomized the concerns of the largest generation in history the baby boomers. The Taylors were a representation of the average American family of the 1990s and their struggles although treated with light-hearted humor reflected the struggles of the shows demographic. In the main three fundamental concerns of the boomer generation were examined on a weekly basis–relationships family and the search for spirituality.

The stage last week for three Democratic state Assembly hopefuls was a College of San Mateo classroom with three blue plastic chairs arranged tightly beneath the whiteboard. The audience was about 30 students, some bleary-eyed for the 10 a.m. Thursday class but filling every seat for Political Science 310: “California State and Local Government.” And the stump speeches were generally predictable in one of the early debates among San Mateo County Supervisor Jerry Hill, Millbrae Mayor Gina Papan and community college district Trustee Richard Holober.
> As coordinator of the Church of North Indias HIV/AIDS program, which focuses on women, youth, refugees, drug addicts and prison inmates, Karuna Roy, an ecumenical visitor to assembly, works with those infected and affected by the virus and designs prevention programs. Of Indias one billion people, there are 5.1 million cases of HIV/AIDS, although Roy said the government figures are on the low side, and that tripling the number gives a more accurate picture.

The Franchise
Franchising: FranNet, a Carlsbad-based company that matches entrepreneurs with franchises, is sponsoring a franchise workshop from 6:30-8 p.m. on Nov. 10 at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 4550 La Jolla Village Drive. Participants at the free seminar will discuss how to find, research, finance and investigate prospective franchises. For information, call (760) 448-2400.
FRANCHISINGHistorically, franchising was a grant by a king to allow a citizen an exclusive right to sell a product or render a service. For this right, the sovereign protected the exclusivity and the subject paid the government an appropriate tribute in service, food, goods, or money. Franchising in the United States started shortly after the Civil War (1861#x2013;1865), when the Singer Company began to set up sewing-machine franchises. The concept became increasingly popular after 1900 in the automobile industry. Because of this, other automotive franchises developed for gasoline, oil, and tires. In the 1950s, food operations made a dramatic entrance into franchising with the development of McDonalds, currently one of the worlds largest franchise organizations.Franchising operations account for billions of dollars in annual sales, with more than 500 outlets employing millions of people. A new franchise opens somewhere in the United States every six minutes. Franchising accounts for approximately 40 percent of all U.S. retail sales. Because of changes in the international marketplace, shifting employment options in the United States, the expanding U.S. economy, and corporate interest in more joint-venture activity, franchising will continue to increase rapidly.Franchising represents the small entrepreneurs best chance to compete with the giant companies that dominate the marketplace. Without franchising, thousands of businesspeople would never have had the opportunity to own their own businesses.

The agency also passed a resolution banning the electronic or printed distribution of tobacco products, making online advertising illegal.
ADVERTISINGThe various delivery mechanisms for advertising include banners at sporting events, billboards, Internet Web sites, logos on clothing, magazines, newspapers, radio spots, and television commercials. Advertising has so permeated everyday life that individuals can expect to be exposed to 1,500 to 3,000 different messages each day. While advertising may seem like the perfect way to get a message out, it does have several limitations, the most commonly noted ones being its inability to focus on an individual consumers specific needs, provide in-depth information about a product, and be cost-effective for small companies.Advertising can take a number of forms, including advocacy, comparative, cooperative, direct mail, informational, institutional, outdoor, persuasive, product, reminder, point-of-purchase, and specialty advertising.

The Model T was the first car aimed at and affordable to a mass market. It was also the first car to be a true American sensation at a time when America was transforming from the rural more craft-based and agrarian economy of the nineteenth century to the urban mass market of the twentieth century. By the post-World War II era most Americans owned a car and much of where and how they lived shopped and worked had been altered by the ability to travel long distances at a faster rate. Mass production mass marketing and mass use of automobiles contributed to this shift. From its debut in 1908 the Model T was Americas most popular car.Henry Ford along with his team at the Ford Motor Company in Detroit designed the Model T for durability and ease of maintenance. Ford aimed to produce an inexpensive utilitarian car and eschewed a lot of the “trimmings” featured by those cars aimed at the luxury consumer. Even its name was simply functional having no significance other than to indicate that the car was the twentieth iteration in Fords succession of alphabetically designated development and retail models. The car was so standardized that most years it was available only in black.Sales of the Model T were spectacular. In the early 1920s Ford was selling over a million Model Ts each year and over half of the cars sold in the country were Fords. When the price of the Model T was cut as it was nearly every year from 1911 to 1925 newspapers coast-to-coast reported the news. The car sold so well that the company bought no advertising between 1917 and 1923. Fords aggressive price cuts created an entirely new market for cars–the mass market. While cars were formerly a luxury of the rich the workmanlike Model T by virtue of its low price was a new product for a new auto consumer the middle-class everywhere.
There have been many milestones in model design throughout the history of R/C model flying- To choose the most important models-those that had the biggest impact on the hobby– would be a difficult task. I can think of a number of models in many categories that would qualify as “new and important” developments. What really makes the Big Guff a milestone is not the model itself. It was a combination of the model, a reliable radio system and the Goods efforts to demonstrate them for the purpose of obtaining dedicated, hobby– related radio frequencies. If not for the Good brothers, we would not have received our first radio channel (27.225MHz) as soon as we did: March 1952. It is good to know that historians have acknowledged the importance of the Big Guff and have given it a place in the Smithsonians Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. (A replica of the Big Guff hangs in the AMA Museum in Muncie, IN.) In the 1940s and early 1950s, most R/C models were no more than controlled, free-flight models, and we could fly only one model at a time on our single radio channel. Generally, the only control was a sequenced rudder (right, neutral, left, neutral, etc.) controlled via a push-button on the transmitter. Throttle control (when it was used) was obtained with dual ignition points. Remember, the glow plug didnt come along until 1947.

Real estate practice is a broad and widely defined area of the law. In a pristine sense it deals with the esoteric subject of real property law and titles. In practice the subject matter handled by real property lawyers is much broader. Many of the areas of law within real estate practice are areas of specialty themselves. Real estate lawyers examine and evaluate real property titles, handle real estate sales, purchases and other transactions, foreclose mortgages, represent developers and contractors in drafting and negotiating development and construction agreements, handle real estate financing, structure and draft the governing documents for planned developments such as condominiums, serve as counsel to community and condominium associations, draft and negotiate leases, litigate title, boundary, and other land disputes, and advise clients respecting zoning and land: use matters. The examination of real estate titles requires knowledge of corporations and other forms of business organization, wills, trusts and estates, and a practitioner handling transactions must understand contractual, business, and tax subjects as well. The subjects that are tested on the certification exam attest to this diversity. They are title issues; real estate finance; environmental and land use; condominiums and homeowner associations; landlord tenant; closings; sellers, buyers, brokers, and title insurers; real property litigation; taxation of entities and other tax issues; and ethics. Some hold an impression that at least some aspects of the real estate practice are not challenging, that the practice is increasingly title company, form, and paralegal driven, and that when business is light any lawyer with a good paralegal can Ado real estate closings. This impression is not accurate. As with any area of practice, successfully representing clients in real estate matters requires knowledge, skill, and experience. The diversity in real estate practice may mean that no one lawyer can be an expert in each practice area encompassing the modern real property practice or that are tested by the certification program. That, however, is not a reason to not seek certification. The committee recognizes that few lawyers are likely to possess specific and detailed expertise in each of the many subjects that fall within the scope of real estate.

Sticking with our makeover theme, you may want to think twice before you scrap your old office furniture. Rather than sending it off to a landfill, think sustainability instead. With that thought in mind, furniture-maker Haworth Inc. and students from Archeworks, Chicagos alternative design school, joined forces to devise a strategy for extending the life of office furniture by developing innovative uses for it once its traditional “end of life” has been reached. Among the furniture students creatfrom discarded systems panels and overhead storage bins were a toy box, a day bed, and a product called the Unit for Living (pictured), a piece that incorporates a bed, storage, and a desk.
The upswing in the economy has meant better business for office furniture and equipment dealers this year. However, some dealers around the county say that some businesses are still looking for ways to stretch a buck when buying for the office. According to the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association, office furniture buying in the United States shrank in 2001, 2002 and 2003. The association expects to see a 5.1 percent increase in sales this year and is projecting a 9.3 percent increase next year, the best since 2000.

“There are [more than] 30 million Americans who have no health insurance and another 20 million who have inadequate health insurance,” says Rep. Louis Stokes (D0Ohio), chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus Health Brain Trust. “It is mandatory that we begin to try and give Americans–particularly minorities–adequate health care as a right.” The Bush plan would give people not covered by Medicaid tax credits, and families making less than $80,000 a year tax deductions to pay for medical costs. He would also pass laws to ensure that even chronically ill patients could receive health insurance. The plan has received a cool reception on Capitol Hill, and alternate proposals, including a full-scale, government-paid national health insurance plan, are under development. But what does America really want for its health care system? The views are many.
Part II, explanatory economics, represents the bulk of the book. The economics of demand, price elasticity, risk aversion, and the effect of insurance on the demand for medical services are explained clearly and well. Behavior of suppliers in the medical care market is reviewed, with attention given to differences in for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. A solid explanation of competitive markets allows discussion of timely issues such as the limits of applicability of the competitive model to the medical care market, price and nonprice competition, and market power of providers, purchasers, and patients. Outside readings on current managed competition proposals would augment the textbook discussion well.A short section on the economic effects of information asymmetries in the medical care and health insurance market introduces the concepts of supplier induced demand and adverse selection. Both discussions are short, but the portion on adverse selection especially needs expansion. More rigor, explanatory graphs, and a more extensive bibliography would make the adverse selection concept more useful. This topic is critical to a sound understanding of the functioning of medical expense insurance. The final section deals with value judgments and evaluative economics. The nontechnical explanation of efficiency versus fairness criteria for evaluating medical care policy is somewhat cursory. More technical material is needed to improve the precision of this discussion. However, even without any additions, the text provides a general background on issues of access to medical care, affordability, and quality of care. The difficulty of making allocation decisions given scarce resources is clearly laid out and opens the way for a discussion of policy alternatives.

CarpetThe first carpets of note were woven by nomads. The thick carpets were easy to transport and were placed over the sand floor of tent dwellings. Early looms were similarly easy to transport. Two forked branches were joined by a crosspiece holding the suspended warp, and a wooden bar was used to flatten binding weft threads, while the loose warp ends formed the carpets pile. The Pazyryk carpet has been documented as the earliest hand loom carpet, dating back from 500 B.C. and discovered in a tomb located in the Alti Mountains in Central Asia. From these early beginnings, carpet weaving rose to its highest art form in Turkey, Iran, India, and China. Using cotton, linen, or hemp as the foundation, and wool or silk as the luxurious pile, weavers would make a knot out of the pile thread, then form a row of knots that was tightly beaten down. The process was time-consuming: some of the finest handmade carpets have as many as 2,400 knots per square inch (372 knots per sq cm). The brilliant colors of these ancient carpets came from natural dyes such as madder, indigo, genista, woad, and ocher. Some weavers added alum to these dyes to fix the color, and a few wove gold and precious jewels into their carpets.
Milliken Hospitality Carpet added 20 contemporary designs to its Diversions guestroom carpet collection and introduced a new textured loop greige base. The Textured Suites loop base provides a more dimensional appearance and luxurious hand, coupled with outstanding performance benefits.

Real estate is a popular investment among Canadians. There are several advantages to investing in real estate. Real estate is leveraged. You may pay only a fraction (as low as 10%) of what the property is worth when you buy it. Real estate has utility. If you buy stocks or bonds, you cannot do anything with them; but when you buy real estate, you can use it until you sell it. For example, you can live in a house.

H UNTING As a human activity, hunting is magnified in its significance by a deceptively simple feature: the evasiveness or resistance exhibited routinely by prey. Because of the behavioral challenges that it presents, hunting has had far-reaching consequences for key aspects of human social, psychological, and cultural life. Since the mid-1960s, for example, anthropologists have argued that hunting may have been a powerful and fundamental force shaping the very nature of cooperation and sharing among early humans. One such claim involves what the behavioral ecologist Bruce Winterhalder calls the risk reduction hypothesis. The failure rate of hunters is notoriously high. Even among experienced, highly skilled subsistence hunters who pursue big game animals, any one hunt is much more likely to result in failure than in success. Studying the Hadza of Tanzania in 1993, the anthropologist Kristen Hawkes reported that when hunting big game, Hadza men failed to make a kill 97 of every 100 days that they hunted. When a large game animal is killed, it often represents a windfall in excess of what any one hunter and his or her immediate family can consume. These circumstances promote reciprocity and sharing among hunters. By sharing the meat provided by a successful kill, a hunter effectively buys insurance against failure in future hunts. When, in the future, he or she fails to kill prey, other successful hunters with whom meat has been shared previously will reciprocate and provide meat to the unsuccessful hunter. The science writer Matt Ridley argues that the cooperation and reciprocity associated with hunting may help constitute the basis of systems of moral and ethical culture. In short, hunting is an activity that promotes cooperation and sharing because it entails the pursuit of a highly valued resource, access to which is unpredictable and risky.Anthropologists report that while both men and women hunt, in the vast majority of human societies this activity is predominantly male. Yet, it is not self-evident why males are more likely to hunt than females. Scholarly interpretations of the 1990s link hunting to sexual activity and rewards. While the matter is debated among social scientists, some researchers argue that males are motivated to hunt not only because of the food they acquire but because of the social esteem and increased sexual opportunities enjoyed by successful hunters.

John Osbornes first play, Look Back in Anger, had its premiere in 1956 and he called it a formal, old-fashioned play. His second play, The Entertainer, was set during the Suez Crisis and opened in 1957. What was new about both was that the characters were real working-class people. No real parts had been written about working- class characters before - only “cheeky chappy” roles such as Doolittle in Pygmalion. When asked if I wanted to go to see The Entertainer I was uncertain. Why? I had worked backstage on a brilliant amateur production (by the Tavistock Rep) in 1969 and it had stayed in my mind, with few productions since to affect the fond memories. How wrong I was to hesitate. For me this production, under Sean Holmess direction, ticks all the boxes and putting it on 50 years after it was set is brilliant timing. So much of it resonates in 2007: a misguided war in the Middle East and young men dying needlessly; the obsession with skinny/size zero women; fading performers (or “personalities”) trying to reinvent themselves; feelings against politicians of either party; comments about the Poles and the Irish; and confusion over national identity.

One of the foremost financial writers of his generation, Peter Bernstein has the unique ability to synthesize intellectual history and economics with the theory and practice of investment management. Now, with classic titles such as Economist on Wall Street, A Primer on Money, Banking, and Gold, and The Price of Prosperity - which have forewords by financial luminaries and new introductions by the author - you can enjoy some of the best of Bernstein in his earlier Wall Street days. With the proliferation of financial instruments, new areas of instability, and innovative capital market strategies, many economists and investors have lost sight of the fundamentals of the financial system–its strengths as well as its weaknesses. A Primer on Money, Banking, and Gold takes you back to the beginning and sorts out all the pieces. Peter Bernstein skillfully addresses how and why commercial banks lend and invest, where money comes from, how it moves from hand to hand, and the critical role of interest rates. He explores the Federal Reserve System and the consequences of the Feds actions on the overall economy. But this book is not just about the past. Bernsteins novel perspective on gold and the dollar is critical for todays decision makers, as he provides extensive views on the future of money, banking, and gold in the world economy.

The Methodist church has set up a company to manage an ethically correct portfolio. It joins the Co-operative Bank and a small, but growing number of organisations that believe they can influence the way corporate Britain behaves by withholding their money from companies involved in alcohol, tobacco, armaments, gambling and pornography. They call it “ethical” investing. Say you are buying stock in Hanson, one of the biggest cigarette manufacturers in the country (it owns what used to be called Imperial Tobacco, maker of Players and Embassy). Its stock market value is about pounds 10bn. To have any significant effect on the company, you would have to pick up at least half a per cent of the company - that would cost you pounds 50m. The Methodists may well have access to funds on this scale. Presumably, they wont be buying Hanson shares. But would it not be making a stronger ethical statement if it did buy a slug of Hanson and started fighting from within? The Methodists would be one of the dozen biggest shareholders, and Hanson, famous for working “in its shareholders interests”, would have to sit up and listen to them rather than dismissing them as a bunch of ignorant do-gooders.

THE Government is proposing building three million new homes in the UK by 2020 and bringing in schemes to help first-time buyers and boost the economy. Eddie Birkett said: In the rural areas of Northumberland you cant find a house to rent. There needs to be some sort of land release and some houses built. Can you see that being done and how do you see the supply of houses going?
Affordable housing. Low cost of living. High quality of life. The combination of these three things sets the Fort Wayne housing market apart. Add a wide variety of options into the equation and you have a truly good value for your housing dollars. A recent home price analysis by the National Association of REALTORS(R) revealed that the Fort Wayne housing market is in excellent shape, with a potential for significant housing equity gains, a very favorable home price-to-income ratio and an even better mortgage servicing cost-to-income ratio. The same report shows that the region added an estimated 15,000 new housing units in the past five years, approximately 12,000 of which were single-family dwellings. New developments continue to pop up in suburban areas surrounding the city. Conveniently located medical facilities, schools, libraries, parks, retail stores and restaurants add to the sense of community.
Some compare todays coastal housing market, where prices increased the most, to the investment craze that led to the technology stock crash a few years ago. Home prices in some regions have more than doubled in the past five years, leading to concerns that the speculative bubble might burst. There have also been record levels of conversion of apartments into condominiums in many areas of the country as demand for homeownership has also led to increased demand for condominiums. Investors can earn a greater profit by selling apartments as condos rather than renting apartments. In markets like Miami, where the condo market has been particularly hot, some units have even changed hands the same day as speculators have been buying many of the condos. The bad news for homeowners in Indiana is that they have not seen their home values rise like many other areas of the country. The Indianapolis areas home prices grew at nearly the slowest pace of the top fifty markets, or 19 percent during the past five years. Homeowners in the Boston and San Diego areas saw their homes appreciate more than 75 percent during the same period. The good news is what has not gone up will probably not go down. That is, home prices in Indiana are not likely to fall with a possible drop in prices in those areas of the country that may be experiencing a bubble. So there is less risk associated with purchasing a home in Indiana compared to many other areas of the country. This also makes homes in Indiana relatively affordable compared to many other areas.

THE new Jeep Wrangler was part of a multi-model assault on the Detroit motor-show by Daimler-Chrysler. Along with the Europe-bound Calibre, the new Jeep Compass and the exciting Dodge Challenger, the Jeep Wrangler showed that Daimler- Chrysler is truly alive and kicking. This one may make reappearance as it is the first Wrangler to get a diesel option. No word on what kind or when its due out though.
Whens it going? Theres a new Jeep Wrangler range this summer with an all-new two- door Jeep Wrangler and long-wheelbase four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. According to Jeep it will have much better road manners, reduced noise levels, a host of safety features and an all-new interior with space for five adults and their luggage. But hey, whats wrong with the old, uncomfortable unsafe one? Off-road icons dont come much more iconic than the all-American Jeep. After all, they invented the small, practical; fun and four wheel drive concept back in 1941. Mind you, it had a serious job to do then, keeping the infantry mobile and helping win the Second World War. So rather than taking the easy option and putting a common old Land Rover, or Far Eastern 4×4 on your drive, why not go for a classic slice of American 4×4 legend? It could fit right in with your off-road lifestyle, if you like that sort of thing. Off road it performs as it should, with style and class. There isnt much it cant handle.

|Several suppliers have introduced lines that are similar to the salon brands but priced for the mass market. CDR Roundup - professional hair care has long represented a sizable and highly profitable niche in chain drug hair care sales. Salon-type products, generally supplied by diverters, can help drug chains raise margins by offsetting sharply priced commodity brands in such areas as shampoos and conditioners. While such names as Redken Laboratories Inc., Sebastian and KMS Laboratories may be becoming rare on chain drug shelves, a whole new class of salon-type products is springing up to fill the gap.
